Sleepy, spicy, book

1. Jerked out of sleep, Tim answers the phone then hands it to me. "Someone called Aaron?" He says with a shrug. It is my brother, Darren. Still half-asleep, Tim didn't recognise the voice.

2. Last night's new recipe was a bit bland, but today's lunch of sumac chicken wings was full of flavour and makes up for it.

3. Lazy Sunday means I get to finish my book.

Puppy rehomed, cheesecake, sleep in

1. Three months ago we got a puppy. He was a lovely little dog, but recently, for various reasons, we decided we couldn't keep him. I was very stressed about this, since he was very attached to us by then. But I posted an ad online yesterday and within hours had three calls. We met the first people today and they seemed perfect. So I feel comfortably sure that he has gone to a good home and will be happy there. It is a big relief.

2. Individual passionfruit cheesecake.

3. I know I can sleep in as late as I like tomorrow.

Fitting me in, shopping, compliment

1. I started on a CPAP machine for sleep apnoea a week ago but I am having some problems with the fit. I rang up this morning and they can fit me in today (Monday) to get it sorted instead of waiting until Friday when my follow-up appointment was originally planned for.

2. I took my daughter clothes shopping yesterday and we had a very (unusually) successful time. Eight items get her set up for autumn/winter, and in time for her school camp later this week.

3. We went to a fairly fancy restaurant on Saturday night (without the kids) that turned out to have mediocre food. Sunday night, tucking into my home-cooked roast beef, my husband wondered why we bother to eat out at all. Lovely compliment.

3. An exciting third book in the trilogy.

Sleep, Muppets, water

1. After a restless night with my headcold I am feeling very tired. Tim takes the kids out at 2pm and I fall into bed and sleep until 4.15.

2. Watching Season 3 of the Muppet Show on DVD. People probably think I bought it for the kids, but no.

3. Cool lemony water on a sore throat.

Sleep, movie, chocolate

1. I've slept a bit better the past few nights. It's wonderful to not be so exhausted.

2. Saw the movie "Tangled" for the second time with the kids and this time we didn't miss the beginning. Fun movie.

3. Chocolate. Always chocolate.
